The 'conker'

Although nothing new, this is my version of ‘The Conker’. This is a feeder/lead rig designed to be fished in conjunction with paste.
I like to use the Drennan Grip mesh feeders, free running so they are safe, they can be filled with softened micro’s or ground bait or even both.
The first thing to notice is that I convert the feeder slightly; I remove the power gum, make it smaller & replace the swivel with a snap link. I then replace the swivel.
The reason is because I like to have the swill running along the line & this way there is only need for one.
The second thing to notice is the bead on the hair; I prefer this for 2 reasons. Firstly it doesn’t get trapped in the landing net like a big pellet & secondly you can lock the bead in place at the end of the hair by placing the nylon through it twice & then tying the loop of.
Under the right circumstances this can be a devastating method, but one point to remember is that it pays to loose feed proper pellets over the top. Not too often to bring them up, but enough to attract them to your zone.
